After working in retail for 35 years, Rob is embracing retirement. He volunteers, travels, and plays cards with friends. He’s learned new hobbies like baking bread and editing videos.
But Rob lost the ability to enjoy his hobbies for a few months while recovering from a hospitalization in an assisted living facility. Now that he has healed and moved back home, he appreciates his independence even more.
“I want to maintain my independence. I want to take care of myself for as long as possible without becoming a burden,” Rob said. “That’s why I like Medicare Advantage: it’s proactive. My doctor advised me that I would be healthier if I lost 30 pounds, and Medicare Advantage provided me with the resources to do that through a gym membership and a dietitian. It has changed my lifestyle for the better.”
Rob loves meeting new people and came away from his assisted living experience with a new group of friends he plays cards with three times a week.
“When we get together, the first thing we talk about is health care. Unlike when we were kids, when we discussed baseball or basketball, now we share our health issues and concerns about costs,” he said. “I don’t worry about those challenges because I know I can receive the care I need through my Medicare Advantage plan.”
“Medicare Advantage gives me the independence to be the person I want to be.”
Through the cost savings and proactive help staying healthy, Rob can maintain his independence. “Medicare Advantage gives me the independence to be the person I want to be.”
95% of Medicare Advantage Beneficiaries are satisfied with their coverage.
That's health care worth protecting.
